Empowering Teachers Through ICT Skills

Project KUHA was designed to enhance the ability of teachers to effectively integrate ICT into teaching and learning processes, while also improving basic digital literacy within schools affected by oil and gas sector developments.

The training targeted teachers from four beneficiary schools:

  • Buliisa Primary School

  • Kaiso Primary School

  • Kyehoro Primary School

  • Ndandamire Nursery and Primary School

Through a Train-the-Trainer approach, participating teachers were equipped with foundational IT skills that can be cascaded to fellow teachers and learners, ensuring long-term impact beyond the training period.

Timely and Successful Implementation

Project KUHA was implemented and completed within the stipulated timeframe. The project commenced with a preliminary field visit on 27th May 2019, followed by the start of training activities on 10th June 2019. All training sessions were successfully concluded on 28th June 2019, with the project reaching formal completion on 1st July 2019.

The structured rollout ensured effective engagement with beneficiary schools and allowed the training team to tailor sessions to the specific needs and contexts of each institution.

Supporting Education in Host Communities

By building ICT capacity among teachers, Project KUHA contributes to improved learning outcomes, enhanced classroom delivery, and increased exposure of learners to digital skills at an early age. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to ensure that host communities benefit meaningfully from oil and gas sector developments through education and skills development.
